The biggest event of the fashion world was held today, the MET Gala 2013. This years theme celebrated the first great exposition about the way in which Punk has influenced fashion, titled: "Punk: Chaos to Couture."

The New York Metropolitan Museum of Art (MET) has a prestigious department dedicated to the area of fashion, The Costume Institute, which showed original clothes and accessories from the 70's (which historically was the date that Punk was born in the UK) completed with current couture designs from some of the most important designers of this time, such as: Haider Ackermann, Miguel Adrover, Azzedine Alaïa, Zowie Broach y Brian Kirkby (Boudicca), Thom Browne, Hussein Chalayan, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Ann Demeulemeester, Shelley Fox, John Galliano, Jean Paul Gaultier, Nicolas Ghesquière (Balenciaga), Viktor & Rolf, Marc Jacobs, Christopher Kane, Rei Kawakubo (Comme des Garçons), Karl Lagerfeld (Chanel), Helmut Lang, Martin Margiela, Alexander McQueen, Franco Moschino, Thierry Mugler, Rick Owens, Russell Sage, Jeremy Scott, Stephen Sprouse, Gianni Versace, Alexander Wang and Yohji Yamamoto.

The exhibition is mounted in six galleries: Rebel Heroes, The Situationist Couturiers, Pavilions of Anarchy and Elegance, Punk Couture, Style Fashion, HTM and Destroy. It also includes more than 100 couture designs as well as ready-to-wear for men and women.

The exhibition will run until August 11 and this years co-chairs were: Ricardo Tisci, Rooney Mara, Lauren Santo Domingo, and Anna Wintour.

La exposición, está montada en seis galerías. Héroes rebeldes, Los modistos situacionistas, Pabellones de la anarquía y la elegancia, Punk Couture, Estilo HTM y Destruye La Moda. También incluye mas de 100 diseños tanto Haute Couture como Prêt-à-Porter para hombre y mujer.
